Scones, Brighton

Scones, originally uploaded by pineapple_and_cheese_on_sticks.

Cream tea at the Mock Turtle tea rooms in Brighton.

If you ever want to have tea and cakes that are literally the size of your head in surroundings somewhat resembling your Grannies living room then this is THE place to go.

Mismatched china, homemade cakes and doilies a-go-go.

The Best Apple Cake In Amsterdam

Cake correspondent ganchinggabz reports:

“The best apple cake in Amsterdam can be found in the Cafe Winkel, Noordermarkt.

I had mine with coffee but lots of people were having mint tea which was basically a glass of hot water with a big bunch of mint stuck in it.”

That’s quite a claim! Let us know if you have a contender to the best apple cake in Amsterdam crown!

Coconut Lime Cake

From the cake stall at Benmore Botanic Garden Open Day in Dunoon. Two of my favourite flavours in one cake – it’s delightfully moist and you can taste both flavours. £2 for a whole loaf too!

Chocolate Walnut Brownie & praline ice-cream

From the Creggans Inn at Strachur.

I wasn’t expecting much but this was one of the best brownies I have ever had. Really soft and warm and light with the walnuts giving you a nice pause. Praline ice cream was good but I didn’t really need it.
