Marzipan Wedge

Marzipan Wedge, originally uploaded by mooosh.

The marzipan wedge! Anything with marzipan gets my vote.

It was a spongey cake covered in a layer of marzipan and a bit of chocolate. It was nice, but I could only eat half of it at one sitting, probably because I was recovering from being ill, but possibly because it was very sweet, even by my standards.

It could be enhanced with a smear of jam between the marzipan and the sponge.

Eaten by Claire and purchased from Cake Tourism favourite, Roy’s Bakery in Tynemouth.
