It has a base like that of a cheesecake, made with biscuits. Should be McVitie’s Digestives, but there are none in Thailand, so I made do with Oreo cookies – just the biscuit bit – which are not sweet at all.

Then the topping is made of sweetened condensed milk, which you boil in the unopened can (keep the water topped up so it covers the can(s) – this was a 2-can pie – at all times) for 3 hours! Cool it, slap it on the base, then top with thick slices of banana, and I added toasted sesame seeds which worked a treat instead of the usual toasted coconut.

A pudding of untrue proportions, so very sickly you can only eat a small slice, but that’s not to say I haven’t eaten huge ones before now. I made this for Cassie’s birthday, as she (an Aussie) had never heard of Banoffee Pie!

Legendary.
