Maltesers Cake, Tynemouth

I ate this cake when I was suffering from a mild plum wine hangover and let me tell you, it was mighty good. It came from the aforementioned Roy’s bakery in Tynemouth, and Roy has a lot to be proud of.

One of the cheapest cakes I’ve ever eaten on my travels, this was a kind of biscuity slice, densely packed digestive and malteser base. The maltesers were big chunks, mmm!

All covered with a thick layer of chocolate – it was divine!
